Luxury cars are, for most of us at least, a pipe dream but that certainly doesn’t stop us looking here at Coolector HQ – especially when there are machines as resplendent as this 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 to be enjoyed. Going up for sale with vintage car specialists, Auxietre & Schmidt, this incredible looking old school cool Lamborghini is definitely the sort of steed we’d gravitate towards if money were no object and the calibre of its condition is second to none.
The 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 from Auxietre & Schmidt has the dreaded “Price Upon Request” which never bodes well for anyone looking for a bargain but its easy to understand why this majestic machine costs an arm and a leg when you consider just how beautiful it is aesthetically and how well it performs out on the road. It has 3420 chassis with an extensive service history over the past 25 years that points to the remarkable condition that its in and how well its been looked after over the last quarter of a century.
Luxury Lambo
There is an unparalleled visual impact to visual Lamborghinis that most vehicles can’t even come close to and that’s particularly true of this extraordinary Miura P400 from Auxietre & Schmidt. It came first in class at the 1997 Pebble Beach – Concorso Italiano which is testament to the condition its been kept in and the P400 is undoubtedly one of the most iconic designs in motorsport history and this is your opportunity to get your hands on one – providing you’ve got incredibly deep pockets.
The Auxietre & Schmidt 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 is the purest shape of the model. It has the chassis number 3420 – with matching engine 1802 – and it was supplied new via Grand Garage des Nations in Switzerland to a certain Mr Del Amo when it first came off the production line. It was originally finished in Rosso Miura Acrilico with black leatherette to the interior and left the factory on 28th of March 1968. And it looks just as good today as it did then.
Very few cars managed to change the course of automotive history in the same manner the Miura did. This legendary machine set the automobile down a new course of style and performance and it’s not often that one of this calibre comes along with a chance to own it. Until the early 2000s the car was very well taken care of including several services at Ferrari of Anaheim. The car was at a later staged showed at the Palais Princier de Monaco and remained in De Mascureau’s ownership until 2011, totalling 15 years in his hands where he looked after it incredibly well.
Once in a Lifetime Opportunity
It goes without saying that there aren’t many 1960s Lamborghinis available to purchase out there and even fewer Miura P400 so this isn’t the sort of opportunity that will along very often for a luxury car enthusiast. If you’re looking for the ultimate classic car to underpin your collection this is definitely it and the immense beauty of its design and out of this world performance is the stuff of legends.
Though the price is unknown, you guarantee that Auxietre & Schmidt won’t be selling this Lamborghini cheaply so be prepared to dig deep if you want to make this your next ride. The fact it has been so well looked after for the last 50 years is remarkable but when you’ve got a car as incredible as this, of course you’re going to treat it well.
