It’s fair to say that Ferraris typically age like fine wine and the 1970s was a particularly vintage era for this Italian supercar as the, quite frankly breathtaking, 1970 Ferrari Dino 246 L-Series from German luxury car specialists, Schaltkulisse, admirably illustrates. This spectacular steed is both incredibly rare and highly desirable as it is finished in its original colour of Grigio Auteuil on a black interior and the sense of luxury it exudes really is second to none.
This 1970 Ferrari Dino 236 L-Series has just 34,000km on the clock and it is a POA offering which, of course, means it won’t come cheap but for any collector after the crowning glory for their lineup of luxury cars, this one has to be right up there with the best of them. It looks so visually impressive as it has been recently refreshed cosmetically and mechanically by Toni Auto in Maranello back in 2021 at the cost of over 75,000 EUR and it is presented in truly immaculate order.
This glorious machine from Schaltkulisse has a very well-documented history with invoices dating as far back as 1975 so you will go into it with your eyes wide open if you want to add this majestic Ferrari to your lineup. It had a long-time ownership at the hands of a French gentleman from 1975 to 2020 and during his ownership, the Dino was painted red, otherwise keeping it in fully original condition. It was always serviced at the delivering dealer, Charles Pozzi.
Named after Enzo Ferrari’s beloved son, Alfredino, the Dino was a real departure from Ferrari’s big, thirsty V-12s and one of our favourites from the brand here at The Coolector. It was powered by a compact, race-derived, 2-litre V6, four-cam engine that is mounted transversely behind the driver, something never before witnessed on a Ferrari, as all were front-engined. Styled by Pininfarina with coachwork by Scaglietti, the Dino GT was, and still is, one of the most exceptional and striking designs ever to roll off the production line. And this is your chance to own one of the most out of this world examples.
