The 1970s was certainly a dawn of a golden age of motor car design and there can be few machines that are a better example of this than the stunning 1970 Porsche 911 S 2.2 that is available to buy from luxury car specialists, Auxietre & Schmidt. For those with a love of devilish dapperment then you’ll be hard pressed to find a more suitable vehicle than this anywhere on the market.
The 1970 Porsche 911 S 2.2 from Auxietre & Schmidt has certainly caught our eye here at Coolector HQ and it’s hard not to be impressed with its sleek lines and striking colourway which has been finished in very rare leaf green. It boasts a sound original condition throughout and it is really is a true collector’s item for Porsche 911 aficionados.
Classic Cool
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, it’s fair to say that the Porsche’s 911 S was the model that most aspired towards. In 1969, the wheelbase was extended by 2.5 inches, delivering a better balance and handling performance, and with its engine output now increased to a more potent 180 hp, thanks to larger valves and better breathing, a larger 225-mm clutch was also required.
This 1970 Porsche 911 S 2.2 from Auxietre & Schmidt is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in just over seven seconds which is a mighty impressive performance for a vehicle of the time. This 911 S could reach a top speed of over 230 km/h – something that not many cars of its day were capable of achieving and the S was truly a thrill to drive for anyone lucky enough to sit behind the wheel of this effortlessly cool and top performing steed.
It is a very special example of a vintage Porsche 911 and the fact it is finished in the rare and sought after Leaf Green with black leatherette to the interior helps to set it apart from the competition even more than normal. The car was supplied new to the Italian market in mid-1970 as per the estratto chronologico which is included in the sale of the vehicle and it is in remarkable condition for a vehicle that is nigh-on half a century old.
Breathtaking Beauty
When this Porsche was acquired by Mr Giuliano Alessandri in the mid-90s, he had the car maintained by former head mechanic of the Porsche official dealer of Bologna to ensure it was done to the highest possible standards. Multiple maintenance records are available from that time and in 2015 the car was acquired by current owner in Switzerland who had further works carried out by a Swiss marque expert at over €36k to deliver the breathtaking Porsche you see before you.
The price is upon request for this stunning 1970’s Porsche (which is probably bad news for your bank balance if you’ve fallen for its charms) and it is certainly one of the finest examples of a Porsche from this era available to purchase. It is in fantastic condition both inside and out and will definitely be the crowning glory of some vintage car collector’s line up of rides.
