8 Essential Snacks from Tennessee Peanut Company

If you’re anything like us here at The Coolector, you’ll find yourself succumbing to regular snacking intervals throughout the day and we’ve got a particular soft spot for legumes so we have definitely had our heads turned and taste buds intrigued by the delicious looking wares from the Tennessee Peanut Company. At the Tennessee Peanut Company, they are firm believers that a life worth living in the past is just, and if not more, worth living now.

That’s why they took a deep breath and a few years of silence to boil down just what they thought life should look like on a normal day. To the Tennessee Peanut Company, this looks like taking the time to sit a spell and play game of checkers, even if the to-do list is ever growing and never in short supply. That’s an ethos we can get behind and it is something that is infused into all of their awesome looking foodstuff and apparel. Check out our pick of 8 essential snacks from the Tennessee Peanut Company below:

DOUBLE DIPPED CHOCOLATE PEANUTS | $12

Chocolate peanuts are probably our biggest weakness here at The Coolector and never have they looked more delicious than these double dipped ones from the Tennessee Peanut Company. The chocolate is delicate and will melt in your hands, which requires a shorter travel time from the can to your mouth. The other alternative would be to expel the contents from the can directly into the mouth. Win, win.

D’S NUTZ | $11

If you want a little comedy (and charity) to go with your snacking pleasure, D’s NUTZ from Tennessee Peanut Company is the way to go. Each tin has been fresh-roasted and this small batch production is hand-tossed (in a way) with just the perfect amount of saltiness. We’d eat these by the barrel load here at The Coolector.

CLASSIC PEANUT BRITTLE | $20

Peanut brittle can be a divisive one but when you’ve tried Tennessee Peanut Company’s, you’ll not go back. In this peanut brittle, you’ll find large similarities in taste between it and their, equally as delicious, peanut squares and if you’re similarly legume orientated, you’ll keep on coming back to this one. Trust us.

NASHVILLE SWEET AND HOT | $11

These Sweet Heat peanuts from Tennessee Peanut Company deliver a mouth-watering blend of all-natural spices and mild sweet chili peppers over extra-large Virginia peanuts – what’s not to like? It wins over the largest crowd by bringing a distinct flavour while still keeping the less adventurous fans within the fold.

SALT & LANTERN | BARREL AGED HONEY | $15

Whilst not strictly a snack, this awesome looking honey is too good to ignore. Tennessee Peanut Company start out with the mildest flavour and lightest colour honey harvested from a local apiary. Then they pour into a freshly emptied whiskey barrel from a local distillery. In the span of a year, rotating the barrel on a weekly basis, they wait for the flavour of the wood to incorporate into this amazing honey. The final product has a subtle tone that comes only with age.

HONEY ROASTED CHIPOTLE | $11

The Honey Roasted Chipotle is like the enhanced version of every peanut Tennessee Peanut Company have. This peanut was on top from the start – but was eventually shut down due to shortages. Now, it’s back with all of it’s previous legacy-setting standards, and is here to stay for a good while. Sweetened with real honey and seasoned with spicy chipotle flavourings, these extra-large peanuts are hand roasted in small batches making them rich in flavour with mild heat. Enjoy with a friend. Or scoff them all yourself (which would be our choice).

SEA SALT & CRACKED PEPPER | $9

These sea salt and cracked pepper peanuts are familiar but in a different way. It’s on every table across America: Salt and Pepper. Now just add peanuts. It sounds too simple to be true, but sometimes an act of genius can be found in trying the obvious. Don’t be so smart that you pass up on these great peanuts. You’ll be back for more.

TRADITIONAL SALTY | $9

The old faithful. It is the roasting process which draws out the oils from within the peanut to the surface that gives it the distinct peanut flavour we all know and love. Another secret about the roasting process is that it also contributes to giving the peanut a texture that you would expect from a nut, since peanuts are actually legumes and not a nut at all. Shocking but true; the most iconic nut known to the public is actually a bean. Mind. Blown.
