Most brands have half of the equation right – quality fabrics, fashion-forward pieces, and refreshing iterations on the classics. However, we at the Coolector like to get the whole thing right; we pride ourselves in steering readers towards green, ethically manufactured alternatives when we can, and Atelier & Repairs fits the bill. They’re unique in that they take deadstock from the island of misfit fabrics and repurposes it for sale to make sure every piece of material is used. This zero-scraps approach leads to original pieces born of the challenge to waste less.

To cut a long story short, the fellas at Taylor Stitch recently ended up with a bunch of extra units of some of their core pieces: namely, The Jack in Everyday Oxford and The Chino and knew that it represented an opportunity rather than a problem. Other brands wouldn’t think twice about getting rid of their excess inventory to make room for the next season of releases – this typically entails sending it to the incinerator or, worse still, the landfill – but that sort of thing never enters Taylor Stitch’s thinking. Instead of merely chalking it up to bad luck and moving on, they knew we had to do right by these pieces and, with that, this Taylor Stitch x Atelier & Repairs Collection was born. The Atelier & Repairs Chino | IN NAVY, BRITISH KHAKI, AND OLIVE ($220)

The Atelier & Repairs Chino blends nautical chic with rugged tradesmen. It’s 9-oz. 98% organic cotton and 2% spandex lets your skin breath, and the fabric is meticulously brushed so that it’s as soft as the vibrant, patterned patches are bold. And it’s washed to achieve a vintage aesthetic, so it’ll have you feeling like you stole them from your old man’s closet.

This incredibly limited edition of The Chino from Taylor Stitch was reimagined in collaboration with Atelier & Repairs and each pair has been crafted using archival fabrics and has undergone a softening wash to help them accomplish a pleasing, lived-in look and feel which will remind you of your most treasured vintage finds.

The Atelier & Repairs Jack packs 6-oz of 100% organic cotton and features Taylor Stitch’s signature Jack button-down collar with a sophisticated single rounded chest pocket. Like the chinos, it’s pre-washed to give it a lived-in look and feel. Just because they use recycled materials doesn’t mean they skimp on quality; the shirt is made from their burly rugby oxford with double-needle felled construction throughout. At Atelier & Repairs, the lock-stitched natural buttons prove that high quality is—no shocker here—all about the details.
