1993 Porsche Turbo S ‘Lightweight’

With that in mind, you won’t be surprised to hear there is a lot of interest in this 1993 Porsche Turbo S ‘Lightweight’ that is going under the hammer with RM Sotheby’s at their Arizona auction this year.

This 1993 Porsche Turbo S ‘Lightweight’ from RM Sotheby’s is one of just 86 Turbo S “Lightweight” examples that made their way onto the market; reengineered by Porsche to weigh over 400 pounds less than the standard Turbo S so it will impress with its speed and handling.

This particular lot was delivered new to Japan; imported to the US in 2015 by a prominent American collector and is presented in an immaculate condition so it will be a standout addition to any luxury car collector’s lineup of vehicles. It has a numbers-matching 3.3-litre type M30/69 SL engine producing 381 hp, 61 hp more than the standard 964-chassis Turbo S.

Visually striking to say the least, this 1993 Porsche is finished in show-stopping Speed Yellow over black and grey upholstery with a black headliner and, safe to say, you’ll turn heads aplenty if you’re the one lucky enough to get your hands on this stunning steed – which comes with a guide price of $1m+.

It comes equipped with air conditioning and power windows, unusual for Turbo S Lightweights, and it is fitted with alloy roll cage, Recaro Sport leather seats, four-point Sabelt harnesses, and polished, 18-inch, three-piece Speedline wheels wearing Dunlop performance tires.

This lot from RM Sotheby’s is supplied with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a tool roll with a spare fan belt, a collapsible spare tire and electric compressor, a tire pressure gauge, work gloves, and a safety triangle. In April 2022, Pfaff Tuning of Woodbridge, Ontario serviced the car, changing the oil change, engine air filter, and spark plugs.
