Worn & Wound are responsible for some of our favourite watch collabs of the last few years here at The Coolector and you can certainly add another to the list with their latest offering – this time in conjunction with the microbrand watchmaker, BOLDR. The BOLDR X Worn & Wound 3xT GMT Limited Edition Watch is definitely the sort of timepiece that is designed to turn heads and this visually vibrant offering ticks all our boxes from a style and performance perspective. Released with the intention of celebrating the new and profound Miyota 9075 automatic GMT movement, this watch will make a great addition to any man’s collection.
The BOLDR X Worn & Wound 3xT GMT Limited Edition Watch is available for the great price of just $699 and it offers a big bang for your buck so to speak. It has a “flyer” GMT and this impressive movement allows for the local 12-hour hand to be jumped hour by hour when setting, something that is not typically seen with timepieces at this entry-level price point. To really make the most of this first-class function, Worn & Wound created a couple of rugged dual-crown sports watches with modern design aesthetics that allow for easy tracking of up to three time zones.
BOLDR and Worn & Wound wanted to make a pair of watches that track more than two time zones easy to use. So they organised the information on the dial by how likely it would be used. The centre of the dial shows 24-hour home time. The larger 12-hour primary index is fully lumed and shows the local time. Last but not least, a dual-purpose rotating internal bezel can be used for standard 12-hour/60-minute/second markers, add a third-time zone, or as an elapsed minute/second counter.
The BOLDR X Worn & Wound 3xT GMTs truly are built for adventure and an action-packed lifestyle. The 41mm case is crafted from stainless steel and is water-resistant to 200 metres. The sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant and the 20mm lugs make it simple to swap out the included nylon straps. The blue and grey dials are inspired by outdoors and sports gear and the overall design is contemporary and ready for anything.
Acting as the beating heart for the BOLDR X Worn & Wound 3xT GMT Limited Edition Watches is the Miyota 9075s. Operating at 28,000 beats per hour with 24-jewels, hacking seconds, and a quick set date (via the jumping hour hand), the 9075 brings a version of the GMT complication that was previously gated behind high-priced watches to a much wider audience. Based on the 9000 series, which boasts the ubiquitous 9015, it’s also reliable and accurate so you’re getting one mighty impressive timepiece for under $1000 – what’s not to like?
