The never-ending allure of a 1960s Ferrari has cast its spell upon us once again here at The Coolector and this time it is this extraordinary-looking 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso that is the culprit. Available to purchase from German luxury car specialists, Schaltkulisse, this mesmerising machine has a spectacular Nocciola Metallizzato exterior which, trust us, is going to turn heads everywhere you go.
Such is the beauty of this extraordinary steed, it is a price-on-application offering which, needless to say, it won’t come cheap but this gorgeous 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso is worth every penny in our opinion here at Coolector HQ. It is one of only circa 350 GT/L’s built and it is Ferrari Classiche certified. Built as the last iteration of the 250 GT range, the 250 GT/L, also referred to as Lusso, was set apart from the competition courtesy of years of engineering, improvements, and refinements gained on the race cars and previous models.
The Ferrari 250 Lusso was first unveiled to the public at the 1962 Paris Salon. It boasted the ultimate development of the short-block Colombo 3.0-litre V12 engine, four-wheel disc brakes, and coil-over shock absorbers at all four corners. The sophisticated and undeniably timeless design aesthetic was the work of Pininfarina, while the body was built by Scaglietti. The Lusso was designed as a luxurious grand tourer for the driver and passenger, with plenty of room for luggage and the ability to comfortably cover long distances.
It was a big hit among businessmen and celebrities, such as Steve McQueen, but was still built in extremely limited numbers, with only 350 examples ever produced. So, if you get your hands on this stunner from Schaltkulisse, you’ll be in some pretty exclusive company of Lusso owners. In impeccable condition and in good running order, Schaltkulisse are delighted to be able to offer this majestic Lusso with Swiss ownership papers.
Unquestionably a must-have for any Ferrari aficionado or for those that love road trips over long distances such as from the Cote d’Azur to the Amalfi Coast, the next caretaker will surely enjoy this iconic Ferrari’s many features, including its sensational design and fantastic driving experience. Head on over to Schaltkulisse to register your interest in this one.
