New Balance are a shoemaker that harks back to The Coolector’s youth and it is a brand that we have a particular soft spot for, so when we saw that they had teamed up with Detroit based fashion label, Burn Rubber, to create a special edition series of footwear, we were understandably excited. And we were right to be so as the undeniably impressive finished product above admirably illustrates.

The great limited edition creation tips a nod to Detroit’s legacy of supplying some of the world’s best boxers – such as Floyd Mayweather Jr, Emanuel Steward and Pinklon Thomas – and the style of New Balance’s and Burn Rubber’s trainer takes its design aesthetic from Michigan’s incredibly rich boxing heritage.
