When we discover a new watchmaker here at Coolector HQ, we always typically keep a close eye on them thereafter to see what awesome new accessories they release onto the market and the Camden Watch Company are a brand that first surfaced on our timepiece loving radar a few years ago and, we’re delighted to report, they are about to make their first foray into the world of automatic watches with a new Kickstarter campaign. Say hello to the devilishly dapper No.29 Automatic Watch from The Camden Watch Company – the likely next timepiece to grace your wrist.
Kickstarter is a great platform for showcasing new timepieces but, it’s fair to say, not all are in the same league as this offering from The Camden Watch Company. The No.29 Automatic Watch is a real cut above from an aesthetic point of view and, for the first time, moves away from the quartz movement the watchmaker typically favours and replaces it with a fantastic automatic one that gives these timepieces a whole new lease of life and tangible touch of quality.
Magical Timepieces
Whilst quartz watches are excellent accessories in their own right, there really is something about an automatic watch that screams quality and that was what compelled Camden Watch Company to craft their eye-catching offering, the No.29 Automatic Watch. These new timepieces from the London based watchmaker thoroughly embrace the spirit of their previous quartz designs but elevate the performance with the introduction of an automatic movement and striking new aesthetics that any lover of traditional style watches is going to appreciate.
The Camden Watch Company No.29 Automatic Watches which are funding on Kickstarter now take their design inspiration from the industrial history of the Camden area of London and are the result of over a year of meticulous planning and design. These first class timepieces are an accurate representation of the ethos behind the watchmaker themselves and a tribute to the industrial and railway heritage of Camden. Incredibly well crafted from fantastic materials, you don’t come across watches of this calibre everyday – particularly on Kickstarter – and we’re sure eager horology fans will be snapping them up for the bargain price during the crowdfunding campaign.
With a Victorian pocket watch style aesthetic (taken from the look and feel of the pocket watches worn by Victorian rail workers), there is a real vintage appeal to these new automatic watches from Camden Watch Company and the complex finish of the dial on the No.29 is a real sight to behold and testament to the brand’s watchmaking talents. It is inspired by traction engines, an invention that revolutionised Victorian manual labour, and numbers and surrounding frame are inspired by the front plate
found on these engines, with the machined pattern in the centre of the dial drawn by all Victorian steam engines.
Great Expectations
It’s exciting to see Camden Watch Company move into automatic watches and Kickstarter is the ideal platform for helping these new timepieces soar but they are helped by the mighty impressive specifications and materials used in their construction. The No.29 Automatic Watches from Camden Watch Company boast stainless steel casing, a Japanese Automatic Miyota 8215 movement, a 50m water resistance, 42 hour power reserve and genuine Italian leather straps, to name but a few of their exemplary features.
If you’re after a new timepiece with a vintage style aesthetic appeal, this new Kickstarter campaign from Camden Watch Company is going to more than fit the bill. The No.29 Automatic Watch is very much to our liking here at The Coolector and it’s hard not to be impressed with all the amazing features they’ve managed to pack into these watches whilst still maintaining such an affordable price. A definite two thumbs up from us.
