Oris are a watchmaker with a fine history in the world of horology and whilst they may not be quite as well known as the likes of Breitling, IWC and TAG Heuer, the quality of their timepieces really is second to none and that’s something that is abundantly clear in one of their latest offerings, the stunning Oris Big Crown Pro-Pilot Altimeter Watch above.

This aviation themed timepiece is a great looking and highly resilient construct which has the rather impressive feature of being the first automatic wristwatch with a mechanical altimeter. Needless to say, this is a feature that is best suited to pilots but even if you don’t spend your time piloting planes, it is equally useful for those of a hiking or mountaineering persuasion and just plain cool, truth be told.
