One of the most recent ground breaking tech in sneakers goes to Adidas and their Primeknit and Boost technology. Already an icon, the Adidas UltraBoost has seen unprecedented levels of success and that is all down to the tech that is in the shoe.
A running silhouette that is beautiful to look at, the upper is constructed with its woven textile Primeknit which Adidas’s version of Nike’s Flyknit textile. Primeknit is soft to the touch but is more durable to stresses of running and strenuous physical exertion than leather or synthetic alternatives. Put simply, you’re not going to find a more well put together piece of footwear than the eye-catching Adidas Silver Pack Ultraboost, which is available as both a soccer boot and a stylish sneaker.
Back to its Roots
Redesigned from its original format to be more adaptive on the Ultraboost model, where different densities in the material exists across the whole foot to provide a consistent level of support as the foot flexes and stretches. The trump card for Adidas though is the Boost sole. A revolutionary material dreamt up by Adidas’s partner and chemical geniuses BASF. The Boost is a polyurethane composite that when embarks on impact, springs back to its original form while moving in tandem with the foot (think of a bouncier type of Polystyrene).
The most recent release comes in the form of the strikingly gorgeous and limited Silver pack where one half is the iconic silhouette and the other is an unprecedented football cleat that just screams player exclusive. The UltraBoost Silver Pack from Adidas features a Primeknit pattern more akin to the Yeezy Boost 350 Turtle Dove to give a sense of desired nostalgia. The whole silhouette is silver and marks the first time the colour has been used on the Boost mid-sole. Hints of black is present throughout the shoe including on the traditional heel panels as well as the PK pattern, Ultra boost branding as usual on the sole also in silver.
Another first and an amazing one at that is the second half of the pack which is the football cleat previously mentioned. Like the Ultra Boost, the cleat model also features a one piece Primeknit upper. The three stripes lace cage is fused to the Primeknit textile which features a re-enforced toe area for more protection on the field of play. A sock liner in the cleat is upgraded with Boost technology to keep the cushioning to a supreme standard that supports the foot against the Razor sprint frame that houses the studs.
