Apex Tinkerbots

I think robot ownership (or rownership if you will) is the dream for most chaps and in our particular case here at Coolector HQ, we’re very much hoping that they’re going to look like these brilliantly creative offerings called Apex Tinkerbots by a master craftsman by the name of Dan Jones.

Jones operates out of San Diego and, quite frankly, has produced robots of such out and out awesomeness that it physically pains us that we don’t currently have one of his smashing Tinkerbots residing on our desk. Robots of any particular usefulness or purpose are still probably a little way from fruition but, in the mean time, we can all hold out hope that those crafting these functional robots cast a glance in the direction of Dan Jones’ creations to take their design inspiration. As you can see, there is a fantastically retro vibe to Jones’ Apex Tinkerbots and they brilliantly mash up the old and new to create a stunning representation of a modern device cobbled together from old components and, as you can probably tell by our gushing, we love them here at Coolector HQ. If you’re a lover of all things mechanical then these will patently be right up your street too and we can’t wait to see what else the Californian tinkerer has got up his sleeve.
