As you’re likely aware, we’ve featured the majestic builds of Arkonik on our pages a fair few times and we never cease to be impressed with the calibre of their restoration practices. Just when we think they could seldom get much better, they seem to have outdone themselves once again with their latest offering – the superb looking Arkonik Catalyst D110 Land Rover Defender. Obviously the amazing photoshoot in Snowdonia, UK, did it plenty of favours as well.
The Arkonik Catalyst D110 Land Rover Defender has a price tag £147,500 which, needless to say, isn’t pocket change but for the calibre of craftsmanship and top class materials that have gone into the build, it actually represents excellent value for money in our opinion here at The Coolector. Released so as to end the year on a high, the Catalyst aims to symbolise the climbing and overcoming of mountains put in your way – something very apt for the year we’ve all just had.
Tackling Mountains Head On
In a year that was seemed like obstacle after obstacle being put in society’s way, Defender Restoration Kings Arkonik have definitely finished 2020 off on a high note by facing them head-on, in true and iconic Defender fashion. With recent changes in everyone’s living and blue-sky thinking from their team, Arkonik managed to fit in one final and epic location shoot for one the woeful year that was 2020, in celebration of their latest featured build: the spectacular Catalyst D110.
They decided to film right in and around Snowdonia, and with UK adventurer Leigh Ibberson by their side, to really make some magic out of the day, the true power and might of the uncompromising and effortlessly cool Arkonik Catalyst D110 Land Rover Defender (£147,500) was exhibited when it met with challenging terrain, weather, and of course, Ibberson himself.
Its moniker may well give it away but this 1993 Defender 110 truly is a catalyst for adventure and taking things in your stride. With a fully rebuilt and reconditioned 200Tdi engine, it’s ready and waiting to tackle any climb and any test of its character that can be thrown at it. Boasting BFGoodrich® All Terrain Tires, Bilstein® uprated suspension, and a 200Tdi engine, there is only one option for CATALYST and that is all or nothing. The Corris Grey bodywork and Java Black roof give a vision of dominance and success, and the Safety Devices® roll cage mean nothing is too much of a challenge for this no nonsense beast.
Superior Interiors
As always, this build from Arkonik is just as impressive on the inside as it is the outside and finished to the finest standard. It has supremely luxurious Beechwood leather and RECARO® Cross Sportster CS heated seats which mean that for every bit of its exterior that shouts strength and dominance, its interior defiantly contrasts by offering an laidback, luxury environment for all those road trip adventures afoot.
Whilst the price tag just shy of £150k will be prohibitive for the majority of Land Rover enthusiasts, if you do have the requisite readies to make this your next adventure mobile of choice, it certainly won’t be letting you down wherever these adventures take you. Classy, well-crafted and boasting high end materials and components both inside and out – what’s not to like?
