If we ever have enough disposable income to afford a custom Land Rover Defender here at Coolector HQ, you better believe that Arkonik will be one of our first ports of call. The reason for our admiration is the fact that they are capable of producing extraordinary looking and performing machines like the Arkonik Fargo Land Rover which is part of their summer sale and can be yours for $170k instead of $185k.
The Arkonik Fargo Land Rover ($170k) is built upon a 1989 model Defender and comes in a supremely stealthy Mariana Black Pearl paint job that gives the car a menacing air that we’re loving here at Coolector HQ. Like all the builds from Arkonik, the Fargo has been subjected to their unparalleled nut and bolt restoration but also exudes urban attitude courtesy of its Safety Devices® roll cage and First Four® Shadow Bumper. The iridescent Mariana Black Pearl bodywork shifts from black to blue, and is complemented by Satin Black accents which includes a KBX® Signature grille and wheel arches.
Impeccable Performance
This latest Defender from Arkonik has 3.5L, V8 engine and a 5sp gearbox that ensures an impressive performance out on the road. It has been artistically reimagined, much like the location in which it was shot – FarGo Village in Coventry (just down the road from the birthplace of the Defender) which is a creative hub which has been regenerated to showcase its rich cultural heritage and this reflects the aesthetic of the Fargo Defender from Arkonik.
The Arkonik Fargo Land Rover Defender has a thoroughly impressive exterior spec which sets it apart from the competition and this includes great features like a OEM Puma Hood, Kahn® Defend 1983 18″ alloy wheels, BFGoodrich® All Terrain T/A tyres, KBX® Signature grille inc. light surrounds, Duo Lux LED headlights, Chequer plate on side sills, Ebony Fire & Ice side steps and rear-facing LED worklamp with NAS rear step with 2” square receiver.
Things are just as eye-catching on the inside of this Fargo Defender from Arkonik with a stellar line up of luxurious features which includes brown Leather seating with diamond Stitch, elite heated front seats with four inward facing tip-ups in load area, matching lock box (inc. 12V & USB power point) and leather door cards. This is joined by an Evander 15″ wood rimmed steering wheel, alloy gear knobs and door furniture, Pioneer® sound system with touch screen, Apple® CarPlay and reversing camera display and air conditioning for those road trips on hot summer days.
Excellent Heritage
With well over 200 builds to their name, Arkonik have positioned themselves as the world leader in creating custom Land Rover Defenders for the most exacting American and Canadian clients. They work with D90 and D110 models and each machine that receives the Arkonik treatment will be of a 15-25 year old vintage, depending on its destination. Arkonik performs a full restoration whilst retaining as much of the original vehicles as possible, to render a ‘better than new’ vehicle tailored to clients’ specifications.
The Arkonik Fargo Defender ($170k) is one of their most impressive and stealthiest looking machines to date and will definitely add a touch of cool to any car enthusiast’s collection. Quality build and craftsmanship from top to bottom, it’s hard not to be impressed by the calibre of the workmanship on show here and if you’re in the market for a bargain, you need to capitalise upon Arkonik’s Summer Sale and get $15k off your purchase.
