Of all the architecture projects we’ve featured on the pages of The Coolector, houses in Cuba haven’t made the cut so far but it’s hard to ignore designs as excellent as B House from Infraestudio. Completed earlier this year, this glorious property is located on a cliff west of Havana, with mesmerising views of the sea. The architects behind the build had the intuition that the house should use itself to hide in the landscape and maintain the characteristics of an existing old house that stood there previously and the end result is a striking piece of contemporary architecture.
Designed to be completely open to the landscape to take advantage of its privileged position, it’s hard not to be wowed by the views afforded to B House. The plot consists of a sheltered house made of palm wood, which hides a larger one made of glass and reinforced concrete. The star of the show is undoubtedly the unbroken views of the ocean and for any with a love of understated architecture with views to die for, B House is up there with the best of them.
