With so many new watchmakers emerging today, it’s pleasing to see those that strive for the traditional and ensure the quality of the timepieces that they produce. These are both qualities of a new watchmaker on our radar here at Coolector HQ, Banmoore, and their superb array of minimalistic, understated and devilishly dapper watches. For any man seeking out an affordable and cool watch for their wrist this autumn, you can call off the search.
The overriding objective of Banmoore is to take the best elements of traditional watchmaking – namely, the exclusivity, craftsmanship and quality – and combine it with modern design twists and contemporary, direct-to-consumer pricing. From what we can see here at The Coolector, they have achieved this with aplomb and have some of the coolest looking watches we’ve encountered in a while for prices that aren’t going to leave a catastrophic dent in your wallet.
Obsessive Attention To Detail
It is clear to see how much work has gone into the design and craftsmanship of Banmoore’s flagship timepiece release – the Chronograph I – which includes the double-domed sapphire lens to the hand-applied dial markers and all the other neat design flourishes in between. Banmoore have strived to exceed customers’ expectations of what can be achieved at this price point of watch and you’ll be blown away by the tangible quality on offer.
Banmoore want to deliver that same wow-factor that you experience when you see a Swiss heritage brand in the flesh but at a price tag that isn’t prohibitive and they’ve accomplished that with their launch range, the Chronograph I. This desire to create a genuinely striking and well made timepiece that doesn’t cost the earth is something that has, lamentably, been lost amongst the sea of new watchmakers on the market and it is mighty refreshing to see Banmoore placing quality above quantity unlike a lot of new micro watch brands.
Brand new to the market, Banmoore have wasted no time in turning plenty of heads in watchmaking circles and this is testament to the quality on offer with their superb looking timepieces. The Chronograph I collection comes in a number of different iterations and styles to suit your own personal style tastes so if you prefer a vintage style leather strap or the Milanese mesh style is more you’re thing, you’ll find an accessory that more than fits the bill here.
Dapper Design, Finest Features
The wonderfully understated design of the Chronograph I from Banmoore is definitely right up our stylistic street here at Coolector but they also back up this aesthetic superiority with first class features throughout. This includes 316L Stainless Steel casing, a TMI (Seiko) VK-63 movement, 60min Chronograph with 1/5th/sec Sweep, 24hr Subdial, Small hacking second and a 5ATM water resistance.
With prices starting at just £195, it’s hard to believe you can get an accessory of this calibre on your wrist for under £250. Whilst they only launched this year, Banmoore already have big plans for 2019 and we for one can’t wait to see what sort of timepieces that this top notch watchmaker has got in store over the next 12 months and beyond.
