Mr Jones Watches has long been synonymous with creative, often delightfully unconventional timepieces that prioritise design and narrative over traditional horological rigidity. They’re watchmakers who aren’t afraid to break the mould. In a seriously cool collaboration, they’ve teamed up with award-winning illustrator and pattern designer Jacqueline Colley to launch a limited edition watch that is a pure explosion of colour and imagination: the Mr Jones Continuum Watch. This piece transports its wearer to a universe of intergalactic retro-futurism, a pop culture galaxy where anything goes.

Jacqueline Colley’s design for the Continuum Watch for Mr Jones is a vibrant outer space scene teeming with life and motion – shooting stars, aliens, and an ever-transforming kaleidoscopic wormhole. As she explains, the watch is “a love letter to retro-futurism: with bold graphics, candy colours, and that sense that in space, there’s no such thing as up or down,” adding, “There’s something magical about how space bends time and perspective, and I wanted to reflect that playful weirdness.”

This design is a natural evolution of her visual world, known for layered detail, bold shapes, and a touch of delightful disorder, creating scenes that reward closer inspection. She aimed to create a “world you can get lost in for a moment, even if you’re just checking the time.”

Checking the time on the Continuum is as unique as the design itself. It’s a jump-hour watch, where the hour is displayed numerically through the circular window of the rocket graphic. The minutes are marked by the colourful meteor as it orbits the watch face, creating a constantly changing visual narrative as the day progresses.

Powering this unique display is a TY2709 20 jewel automatic mechanical mechanism, providing a reliable heartbeat to the retro-futuristic scene. The watch is housed in a 37mm wide case with a 46.9mm lug-to-lug measurement, attached to an 18mm black stainless steel strap. It offers 5ATM water resistance, making it suitable for splashes and everyday wear, and comes with a 12-month guarantee.

Jacqueline Colley, based in East London, is recognised for her distinctive pastel and bright colour palette, transforming everyday objects into playful, optimistic illustrations. Inspired by mid-century ephemera, vintage typography, and bold colour combinations, her work often features detailed, explorable scenes that invite viewers to slow down and take a closer look – a perfect fit for a watch dial.

It’s worth noting that the Mr Jones Continuum Watch is only available from 8am on Friday 2nd May for just 24 hours, exclusively from the Mr Jones Watches website or its London store. This extremely limited availability added to its highly collectable nature. For those who were quick enough to grab one within that brief window, priced at £245, they will have secured a watch that is not just a timepiece, but a wearable piece of art and a conversation starter. The Mr Jones Continuum Watch is a bold, colourful, and imaginative limited edition that truly embodies the brand’s creative spirit and Jacqueline Colley’s unique visual world.
