The Cornwall coast is, quite literally, amongst the most picturesque we’ve encountered here at Coolector HQ and it is complete folly that we haven’t ventured there sooner – particularly when you consider it is dotted with boutique gems like the Boskerris Hotel on Carbis Bay, a short stroll from the popular tourist town of St Ives.
The Boskerris Hotel has a distinct Mediterranean design aesthetic and the minute you’re greeted by the friendly team upon arrival, you’ll find it difficult not to be won over by the understated pastel tones that abound from the lobby, through the lounge and out onto the breath taking decking area that affords magnificent views out to sea.
Built back in 1931, the Boskerris Hotel certainly has a great heritage but it’s only fairly recently that it’s been given a whole new lease of life by its current owners and if you’re after a boutique retreat with spectacular views then you’ll struggle to find something more fitting the bill than the Boskerris.
Providing superb views of both St Ives Bay and the eye-catching Godrevy Lighthouse, the location on the glorious Carbis Bay is difficult to top and you’re just a short, albeit incredibly steep, walk from the beach below (with numerous other great beaches to be enjoyed on the walk to St Ives).
The rooms at Boskerris are small but perfectly formed and boast all the mod-cons and luxury items that you’d expect from a boutique hotel and we were thoroughly comfortable during our stay, with top notch bathroom that included an awesome rain shower.
The real crowning glory of the Boskerris Hotel is the communal areas which are wonderfully comfortable and boast an abundance of charm. Whether this be the compact but well stocked bar or the breakfast room (which offers a first rate full English breakfast – with incredible eggs), you’ll find all manner of places to relax and unwind.
The staff at Boskerris Hotel deserve special mention given their overriding desire to above and beyond the call of duty in ensuring that you experience everything the Cornish coast has to offer and are full of insightful information about local sights and sounds that are too good to be ignored.
If you love a walk, the Boskerris Hotel is certainly the ideal base as it affords to you awesome walks in almost every direction and with pubs aplenty to stop off at and enjoy a Cornish craft ale or too. A wonderful example of the sort of unusual, incredibly stylish boutique hotels that are available throughout Cornwall, we’ve absolutely no hesitation in recommending the fantastic place to those heading to Cornwall.
