Ember Watch Company Rocket Watch

In a bold move to disrupt the traditional watch market, Ember Watch Company has unveiled their inaugural model, the Rocket, on Kickstarter this August. Founded in 2020 by British furniture designer John Glinister, Ember Watch Company aims to create distinctive timepieces that stand out from the crowd. Glinister’s expertise in design and manufacturing is evident in the meticulously crafted Rocket, setting a high bar for the brand’s future offerings.

The Rocket Watch’s standout feature is its faceted 316L stainless-steel case, characterized by a bead-blasted matte finish, flat surfaces, and crisp edges. This unique design element gives the watch a modern, industrial aesthetic that is sure to turn heads. Complementing the case is the innovative dial, which employs a sandwich construction. Cutouts around the dial reveal a lower layer coated in Super-LumiNova BG-W9, providing a striking luminescent effect in low-light conditions.

Available in four vibrant variations, the Rocket caters to a range of style preferences:

  • Midnight Neon: Black dial with blue rehaut and pink and yellow accents.
  • Skyline Pink: Pink dial with black rehaut and yellow accents.
  • Sunset Orange: Blue dial with orange rehaut.
  • Glacial White: White dial with mint-green rehaut.

The Rocket measures 40mm across with a lug-to-lug distance of 47mm and a thickness of 12mm, making it a well-proportioned and comfortable watch for everyday wear. The screw-down crown ensures a water resistance rating of 10 ATM/100m, adding to its practicality. Inside, the Rocket is powered by the reliable Seiko NH38A movement, a no-date version of the popular NH35, known for its accuracy and dependability.

Each Rocket watch comes with a 20mm leather strap and an FKM rubber strap, both featuring branded buckles. Additionally, a bracelet is in development and is expected to be available around the time of shipping. Early backers will have the opportunity to purchase the bracelet at a discounted rate, mirroring their Kickstarter pledge discount.

The case-back design has been refined from the prototypes to feature larger, more legible text and modified central artwork, enhancing the overall aesthetic and readability.

Ember Watch Company’s Kickstarter campaign launched on August 2nd, with delivery anticipated between February and May 2025, allowing for potential production and customs delays. The Rocket is set to retail at £395, but early backers enjoyed a 25% discount for the first 48 hours of the campaign, reducing the price to £296. Following this period, a 20% discount (£316) is available until the campaign concludes on August 23rd.

With its unique design and robust features, the Ember Watch Company Rocket Watch is poised to make a significant impact in the world of horology. Be sure to secure your piece of this exciting launch and join the Ember journey on Kickstarter.
