Farer Durham Watch

If you like your watches to have a vintage style aesthetic that wouldn’t look out of place on Don Draper’s wrist, the newly released Durham Watch from Farer is sure to be ticking all the right boxes for you. This classy looking offering from British watchmakers, Farer, is finished in rich metallic tones of salmon copper and slate grey. It is is one of three, new designs for 2022 from the cushion case collection. It explores use of tone and texture, to bring a refreshingly different approach to Farer’s conventional dial design.

The Farer Durham Watch retails for £895 and the sector dial design is characterised by a striking raised circular ring, which stands out against the dial, finished in a striking, vertical grain texture that catches the light with varying depths of tone throughout the day. The dial is decorated in applied highly polished hour markers, coupled with slim dauphine style angled hour/minute hands in matching finish.

At 38.5mm the case of the Farer Durham Watch sits comfortably on any wrist, with the lines of the new cushion case architecture delivering a barrel sided aesthetic that hugs the dial. More unusually, the case of this devilishly dapper timepiece is skilfully made up of a three piece construction; case back, main case body and bevelled bezel with anti-reflective sapphire glass inset. Put simply, this is a case that stands out from the norm.
