We take our tea pretty seriously here at Coolector HQ but perhaps not £82,000 seriously but we dare say there will be plenty of deep pocketed tea lovers out there who might just want to direct their attention towards this extraordinary collaboration between George Jensen and Marc Newson, who have come together to create a spectacular Mammoth Tea Set which, isn’t huge but is made from mammoth tusks.
The George Jensen x Marc Newson Mammoth Tea Set is the jaw-dropping collaboration between famed industrial designer, Newson, and the leading Danish metalware brand, George Jensen. Whilst you may imagine that £82,000 is a little on the steep side, which it obviously is, but it does have the highly unusual design feature of handles which have been lovingly crafted from the tusks of mammoths which, we can all agree, makes it an unmissable addition to your tea service if you can afford it.
Available in extremely limited editions, only 10 of the five piece tea sets will be made, and they are made to order in George Jensen’s Danish warehouse so if you like the idea of having one of the most unique tea sets in the world then you’ll need to move quickly. We love design that dares to be different and this collaboration between Marc Newson and George Jensen unquestionably falls into that bracket. It’s great to see innovators in different industries combining together to create something genuinely unique and for anyone who has the requisite finances to facilitate it, then there surely can be no better or more unusual way of serving tea in the world than this stunning Mammoth Tea Set.
