Needless to say, winter is the season when our attention turns to outerwear here at The Coolector and finding brands that tally with our own style sensibilities is a must. Triumph Motorcycles might not be an immediate thought for many men when it comes to quality fashion pieces but you may just be surprised to learn that they have one of the coolest lineups of menswear we’ve encountered in a while. With their jackets being a particular area of expertise.
So, to celebrate the excellence of the Triumph Motorcycles Lifestyle collection which is all about fashion and not protective gear, we thought we’d take a look at some of their most celebrated styles of jackets and you might just see one that will be on your Christmas wish-list below:
Classic Biker Jacket
As you might expect given they’re a motorcycle brand, Triumph excel in the classic biker jacket market and this style of jacket is purpose built for two-wheeled road trips but, as luck would have it, will look just as good in your local bar or restaurant. Popular since motorcycles were first invented, the classic biker jacket oozes old school cool whilst being mighty functional and versatile to boot. Check out a couple of Triumph’s coolest biker jackets below:
Deacon Leather Jacket
A 100% leather jacket in Black with quilted red satin lining and a classic 40s/50s silhouette. Design features include talon zips which are the authentic zips of traditional biker jackets, stylish D-pocket and zip-open gusseted cuffs. While this is not a protective item it gives some biker style to your everyday life.
Kirk Waxed Cotton Biker Jacket
The Kirk Waxed Cotton Jacket is water and wind-repellent with quilted shoulder panelling and buffalo check lining and is completed by zip closure cuffs and adjustable waistband buckles. While this is not a protective item it gives some biker style to your every day adventures.
Bomber Jacket
As the name suggests, the bomber jacket originated in the military and was first known as the ‘flight jacket’. They were created by the US Army Aviation Clothing Board in 1917 to help ensure that WWI pilots stayed warm in the uninsulated, open-air cockpits of their planes. Today, however, they are a mainstay of any stylish man’s wardrobe rotation and you can check out our favourite bomber from Triumph Lifestyle below:
Biggin Bomber Jacket
Taking inspiration from the B15 flight jacket and Triumph’s associated heritage of the infamous leaping tiger. The Biggin is crafted from a heavy cotton outer, has an insulated quilt stitched liner, comes with a removable faux fur collar, and has a heavy knit rib cuff and hem to keep the cold out. Pairs brilliantly with the Eddie Vest below.
Eddie Vest
This heavy-duty 100% cotton jungle cloth vest is an excellent addition to any winter wardrobe. Its onion quilt stitch liner in contrasting dark green, adds an extra layer of warmth without the bulk. This classic staple makes it easy to create a layered look by adding it to a shirt or for extra heat under a classic jacket.
Field Jacket
The first field jackets were made for American soldiers in 1938, as a more functional and versatile replacement for the wool coats they’d worn since the First World War. They’ve evolved a lot over the years and have become one of the most sought-after pieces of outerwear for most men courtesy of their great aesthetic and performance. Generally speaking, a field jacket will have at least four pockets on the front and often a couple inside, too. They’re normally pretty lightweight and spacious enough to fit a few layers underneath as well. Triumph take the classic field jacket and give it a contemporary spin.
Garstang Waxed Camo Jacket
The Garstang wax jacket grounds its heritage in early Field Jackets. This classic style has been re-envisioned with an understated camo print. This 4 bellow pocket utility style jacket expertly adapts to any style. Made with compact twill oil cloth, the Garstang features a waterproof liner, and a classic red and black blanket twill lining.
Deck Jacket
The deck jacket is another one of those pieces of outerwear that boast military inception, in this case, developed as a utilitarian jacket for navy personnel to be worn during WW2 on, you guessed it, the deck of ships. The idea was to come up with a warm jacket, that was both windproof and woolly on the inside. It is now a mainstay of many a man’s wardrobes and you can check out a couple of top-notch deck coats from Triumph below:
Marstone Jacket
Inspired by the classic N1 Deck Jackets that were issued to the US Navy for warmth. The Marstone jacket is crafted from heavy 100% cotton canvas, lined with faux fur throughout and finished with authentic details including knitted storm cuffs and a throat strap for added protection from the elements.
Mo Jungle Jacket
The Mo jacket is crafted from heavy 100% cotton jungle cloth, super warm yarn-dyed lining and finished with authentic details. Boasting the sort of stealthy style and versatile performance we love at Coolector HQ, the Mo is the perfect year-round jacket.
