When it comes to backpacks built to last the distance and any environment on the planet, it goes without saying that Goruck should definitely be your first port of call and they have just knocked things up a notch with their latest release, the 4.0 Rucker Backpack. Available for pre-ordering now with shipping in mid-March, this rough and ready carry is purpose built for rucking and rucksack training. If you train hard on dirt, grass, and concrete, the Rucker 4.0 is the backpack for you to get stronger one rep and one mile at a time.
Priced at $225, the Goruck 4.0 Rucker Backpack boasts plenty of upgrades to make it even more straightforward to maintain your equipment during your workouts. Gravity + USA Cast Iron Ruck Plate + Concrete = too many zipper failures but not with the guys from Goruck. They can’t build better zippers to withstand this, of course. Nobody can. So, they decided to replace the interior zippers with velcro and removed the front exterior zipper pocket altogether. The end result, a much more functional backpack for rigorous training.
ADVENTURE READY ACCESSORY
Billed as the most comfortable rucksack ever built, the 4.0 Rucker has upgraded padding on the top of the plate pocket for bear crawls. It also has ergonomic lumbar support and the fabric on the back panel and underside of straps does not cause friction burn so no matter how you choose to wear it, it’s not going to cause you any problems during your workout. All the interior pockets are now VELCRO closures with enormous pull tabs so you can work them even with gloves on, even when it’s cold out – a feature that is sure to be appreciated by those who workout outdoors all year round.
The Goruck 4.0 Rucker Backpack ($225) will allow you to say goodbye to friction burn in 2022. This is because it is crafted from a 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA® material on the back panel and underside of the shoulder straps which does not cause friction burn on your skin and it plays well with less robust fabrics like merino wool. It has an additional 10mm of EVA foam padding along the bottom section of the back panel that supports the natural curvature of your back. It’s raised up, protects you from friction from seams on pants, belts or Tough Leggings or anything back there. And if it’s exposed to your skin, that’s not an issue either.
It comes with a training sternum strap which keeps the Rucker® secure without constricting breath or movement and is adjustable by the MOLLE on the straps. You’ll find that the 2 grommets on the bottom of the ruck will drain water for when you find yourself doing hydro burpees in the ocean, lake, or fountain and it comes with side MOLLE to integrate effortlessly with the Padded Hip Belt. A hip belt allows you to distribute heavy loads to your hips over long periods of time plus keeps the ruck stable during Ruck PT. Win, win.
