Maen Watches

It would seem to us here at Coolector HQ that Swedish watchmakers are like buses – you wait for one to come along and then four come along at once. No sooner had we featured the likes of Tuseno and Vestige watches here on the pages of The Coolector that we find ourselves gravitating back to Scandinavia again to discover another first class watchmaker. The brand in question this time goes by the name of Maen Watches and the quality of their wares, particularly if you like minimalist watches, is second to none.

Maen Watches herald from Stockholm, Sweden, and are named after a story that in 1609 the Dutch ship Halve Maen (‘Half Moon’) was responsible for discovering New York City and, in doing so, changed the course of history. Taking their design inspiration from this story, Maen Watches took the decision to deliver a watch brand that isn’t afraid to go its own way and take the path less travelled.

Scandinavian Style

As we mentioned, we seemed to have featured a fair few watchmakers from Sweden in the past few weeks here on the pages of The Coolector and Maen are another that manages to achieve style perfection with their understated, minimalist Scandinavian style which positively shines through in their impressive line up of timepieces.

The brand may be based in Stockholm but they are from Dutch heritage so they’ve managed to expertly intertwine famed Scandinavian minimalist with the Dutch pioneering spirit and finished things off with a sprinkling of dapperness derived from their love of New York City.
