Woodworking is one mighty impressive skill in our opinion here at The Coolector and there are few better proponents that we’ve seen of this than Mortimer’s Workshop and their awesome line up of oak chopping boards. Far from your average chopping board, these offerings are visually striking in the extreme and you’ll be hard pressed to find a cooler looking kitchen accessory than this right now.
Mortimer’s Workshop specialises in crafting a range of high class, robust and unique products which are made from sustainably sourced oak. Everything that comes out of their workshop is handcrafted and finished to their exceptionally high standards. The hand made nature of their chopping boards means that each piece will vary in shape, size & colour – and there will never be two the same. Check out some of the best pieces from Mortimer’s Workshop below:
“Island Hopping” Resin & Oak Artists Board (£145)
One of one, this amazing looking Island Hopping Board from Mortimer’s Workshop (£145) is inspired by the Exotic islands and travel, a combination of stunning blues and white resin which has been overlaid on a slab of ancient oak milled, kiln dried and flattened ready to serve charcuterie in style. (£145)
Gold Leaf Resin & Oak Charcuterie Board (£195)
Another one off piece, this Mortimer’s Workshop Gold Leaf Resin and Oak Charcuterie Board (£195) offers a stunning combination of specatcular blue metallic resin and unique oak bur. Providing a touch of luxury and artistic merit to your kitchen cooking, this amazing construction showcases the intricate detail that goes into the creation of all the boards that leave the Mortimer workshop. (£195)
Magma & Oak Charcuterie Board (£195)
A winning combination of stunning magma metallic resin and unique oak bur, this one-off board from Mortimer’s Workshop is definitely one of our favourites here at Coolector HQ. This striking work of art-cum-chopping-board will turn heads aplenty and provides the perfect focal point for any food lover who is serious about using nothing but the best accessories in their kitchen. (£195)
Cornish Tide Resin & Oak Charcuterie Board #5 (£75)
One of one, this Cornish Tide Resin & Oak Charcuterie Board #5 (£75) is, as the name likely gives away, inspired by the Cornish coast. Another combination of eye-catching blues and white resin again overlaid on a slab of ancient oak milled, kiln dried and flattened ready to serve charcuterie in style or display as an art piece. Not suitable for the dishwasher or suitable for cutting on – Mortimer’s Workshop suggests flipping and using the wooden back for chopping purposes. (£75)
Oak Mist Resin & Oak Charcuterie Board (£155)
There is a real relaxing vibe to this Oak Mist Resin & Oak Charcuterie Board from Mortimer’s Workshop (£155) and you could get lost in its grey swirling design. Though fundamentally art pieces, these boards are likely to be used heavily in the kitchen because of their shape and dimensions but, truth be told, we don’t think we could risk damaging something as striking as this here at Coolector HQ. This brilliant looking board is a combination of olive grey resin and unique oak bur. (£155)
