Of all the bucket list cars we’ve got at Coolector HQ, you can rest assured that a restored Scout sits pretty close to the top of the list and there are few workshops out there doing better work than New Legend 4×4 in this regard. As if to prove this point we present to you the awesome looking New Legend 4×4 ’69 Copper Mountain Scout which both lamentably and expectedly has already been sold for what is a pretty reasonable price tag of $64k.
The New Legend 4×4 ’69 Copper Mountain Scout is a fine example of the capabilities of this American workshop when it comes to breathing new life into old vehicles and it boasts an aesthetic which is quite unlike anything else you’re likely to encounter and the sort of bold visual impact the will turn heads wherever the new, lucky owner goes. It is built for adventure and boasts some stunning design features which will make it a mighty comfortable ride to boot.
Time To Hit The Road
Vehicles like this New Legend 4×4 ’69 Copper Mountain Scout were positively built for exploration and adventure but that doesn’t mean to say some luxuries haven’t been incorporated into the restoration. On the inside you’ll find some amazing features such as custom faribault Mills wool blanket accents, grey waxed canvas paired with black leather seats and door panels, a 5 speaker stereo with subwoofer and a modern 3 point seat belts attached to a 4 point powder coated roll bar.
Needless to say, the exterior and bodywork of the New Legend 4×4 ’69 Copper Mountain Scout excels as well and it is certainly one of the most striking machines we’ve seen from the American workshop to date – something that makes the fact it sold for just $64k all the more astounding. A few of the most eye-catching features of the exterior of this majestic steed include buffed and cleaned original paint, a completely cleaned and structurally repaired bodywork, bedlined interior and repainted underhood and interior and new gaskets, seals, and lenses.
It is, of course, thoroughly impressive under the hood as well because New Legend 4×4 are famed for their capacity for creating uncompromising beasts built for a life spent off-road and this ’69 Copper Mountain Scout is no exception. It has a complete wiring update to modern harness, an entirely new fuel, exhaust, cooling, steering, and brake system with hydroboost brakes, Dana 44 axles front and rear with original style 2″ lift leaf springs and it is ready and waiting for your next road trip adventure.
Complete Overhaul
The original vehicle that formed the basis for this stunning steed as you see it today required a comprehensive and complete overhaul to make it as breathtaking as it now is. The New Legend 4×4 ’69 Copper Mountain Scout originally had extensive “farmer” fab custom additions: such as bumpers, tow bar, and other 1/2″ thick plate overkill accessories. The workshop had to lovingly undo all of that and bring it back to a stock and clean appearance.
Overall, it is an amazing Scout that gives one the opportunity to touch and see paint that is over half a century old and was positively crying out for the restorative touch of New Legend 4×4. We’ve featured a fair few of the workshop’s custom builds here on the pages of The Coolector but it’s fair to say that the ’69 Copper Mountain Scout could just be our favourite to date due to its classic design and impeccable restoration.
