If you’re unfamiliar with this motoring colossus, all you need know really is that he was famed for his love of speed and how he so triumphantly conquered circuits like Nurburgring and he was the chief reason why the Porsche was allowed into rallying events – and he won the Monte Carlo rally behind the wheel of a 911 and became the first race driver to win the 24 hour Le Mans race for Porsche. So, basically, he’s a jolly good egg and a rather masterful driver.

Similarly, the limited edition luxury timepiece that bears his name has equally as impressive credentials and it is specifically designed to reflect Elford’s momentous victory at the 1968 Targa Florio race in Sicily which is, to this day, still remembered as one of the finest examples of driving of all time. The dial of the Vic Elford Officine Autodromo Prototipo watch is inspired by the colourful dashboard of the Porsche that Elford was driving during that spectacular performance and we’re sure that you’ll join The Coolector in agreeing that it’s a mightily impressive looking timepiece indeed.
