Hodinkee are, of course, a leading light in the world of reporting upon luxury watches so it’s easy to see why a lot of the leading Swiss watchmakers seek them out with collaboration projects. The latest to do so, Oris, have certainly turned our heads here at Coolector HQ with the impeccable looking Oris x Hodinkee Divers Sixty-Five Limited Edition Watch which fans of the deep blue see will appreciate.
The Oris x Hodinkee Divers Sixty-Five Limited Edition Watch is available in highly limited amounts and won’t be around for long so you’ll need to move quickly to secure one or it will be the wait-list for you. With a price tag of $2,300, this eye-catching and incredibly robust timepiece is a great value choice for those looking for an investment piece which is only likely to go up in value – given the scarcity of numbers available.
Refining a Classic
Hodinkee are big fans of the Sixty-Five dive watch from Oris and jumped at the chance to be a part of this limited edition timepiece. This new version maximises the classic appeal and versatility of the original without compromising the adventurous and sporting nature of a great dive watch. For the Oris Divers Sixty-Five Limited Edition for HODINKEE, they have fitted the 40mm steel case with a faded grey bezel and a soft black dial with printed markers to give it its own distinctive aesthetic.
Balanced with a no-date execution, a hand-wound movement, a slimmer case profile, and a production of just 250 units, the Oris x Hodinkee Divers Sixty-Five Limited Edition Watch costs $2,300 and manages to retain the charm inherent to the best vintage dive watches, allowing it to easily ride the wave from the surf to the office – and wherever you go in between. Supremely stylish in design, this magnificent timepiece from Oris and Hodinkee delivers a compelling mix of go-anywhere ability and always-on-your-wrist versatility.
A first for the contemporary Divers Sixty-Five lineup, this fantastic limited edition dive watch is also hand-wound. It uses a specially-modified version of Oris’ caliber 730 movement based on the Sellita 210-1, not only does this custom execution offer the old-school interactive nature of a hand-winder, but the rotor-less movement also allows for a special thin caseback design. With a total thickness of 11.82mm (compared to 12.72mm on the standard model with the caliber 733), this understated caseback leads to a case design that is noticeably thinner than any other Divers Sixty-Five model on the market.
Devil in the Detail
With the Divers Sixty-Five Limited Edition for Hodinkee, they pared down the design to create the ideal balance of go-anywhere ability and always-on-your-wrist versatility. The soft black dial is brought to life by printed markers, a simple hand design, and plenty of lume for maximum legibility through the bubble-domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The faded grey bezel rounds it all out with a lovely tone-on-tone contrast with the dial.
Some of the stand out features of this immeasurably cool timepiece collaboration include a 42 hour power reserve, a water resistance of 100m and each one comes with a rivet-style tapering stainless steel bracelet and the Hodinkee Sedona Strap in Black so you can change up the look and feel of this timepiece at the drop of a hat. Another first class collaboration between a Hodinkee and a leading luxury Swiss watch brand.
