Peren are a watchmaker that have been on our radar for a few years now here at The Coolector and it’s been great to see them go from strength to strength and they now boast some of our favourite, adventure ready timepieces on the market. Their latest release, the Nera Rogue Watch, is unquestionably amongst their finest to date and for those seeking an affordable, entry-level luxury watch, this one would definitely be ticking all of the right boxes. Stylish, no-nonsense and crafted from high quality components, it’s easy to see why the pre-orders are flying in for this one.
The Peren Nera Rogue Watch has a pre-order price starting at CHF449 which represents a pretty hefty saving on the final retail price so make sure you move now if you want to bag yourself a bargain before this one officially hits the shelves. This classy looking timepiece is inspired by a legend and the idea for this watch from Peren originates from a declassified abandoned Tornek-Rayville tribute project gone rogue. The Tornek Rayville TR-900 diver’s watch from the 60’s is one of the rarest diver’s watch ever made and it was the catalyst for the creation of this majestic looking timepiece.
LEGEND WOULD HAVE IT
The Tornek-Rayville was crafted by Swiss watchmakers, Blancpain for the US Navy’s Experimental Diving Unit for use by its Underwater Demolition Team which was a unit that would later become known as the Navy SEAL’s. Only around 1,000 pieces were ever made, and most were subsequently destroyed because the watch was using a radioactive element. On the caseback there is a radioactivity warning sign followed by the instruction: “If Found, Return to Nearest Military Facility.” Only 30 or less watches are still existing today – making it a pretty cool inspiration for the Nera Rogue Watch from Peren.
Beautifully crafted and exceptionally robust, the Peren Nera Rogue Watch (from CHF449) is a distinctive hand built Swiss watch with many unique and engaging features that help to set it apart from the competition. The fluted conical rotating bezel is a singularity in the watchmaking industry and it offers supreme grip and manoeuvrability while the automatic, in-house regulated movement delivers an incredibly reliable performance in extreme conditions and up to 200m/660ft of water resistance.
Positively overflowing with features that belie its affordable price-tag, it’s hard not to be impressed by the Peren Nera Rogue Watch. Some of its stand out features include the Swiss Automatic Sellita SW200, in-house regulated movement, 38 hour power reserve, scratchproof Sapphire crystal glass with 3 AR layer coating and BGW9 Swiss Super-LumiNova®, dial/hands/case that make it easy to read in low light conditions. When purchasing a Nera Rogue, you can choose from four different straps – Vintage Leather, Zulu Leather, Stainless Steel and NATO fabric – so you’re sure to be able to find the ideal one for you.
