The Xbox ONE has fallen a little by the wayside in comparison to the Playstation 4 in the first 12 months or so since the devices hit the market but, in all honesty, neither console has yet released a genuinely must-have game in our opinion but that could well be set to change with Quantum Break, of which some rather compelling gameplay footage has just emerged for Xbox ONE which admirably showcases the capabilities of the machine.
Quantum Break is the work of Remedy Games and is an Xbox ONE exclusive so if you’re a PS4 owner, look away now. The game boasts a mightily impressive mixture of cinematic gameplay with plenty of time-bending, slow motion action thrown in for good measure. As you can see from the video above, it has some incredibly impressive visuals to entice gamers and the action certainly looks to be in good order.
The game follows the story of the hero who has to save the future before time literally runs out and it is made by the same team behind Alan Wake and Max Payne (which might make the slow-motion action more understandable). Though we’ve not got an Xbox ONE here at Coolector HQ, instead favouring a PS4, this is the first game that looks like it could mean we’ve made the wrong decision and we can’t wait to see whether Quantum Break lives up to its potential when it hits the shelves later this year.
