As you may be aware, we’ve certainly got an affinity for interesting timepieces here at Coolector Headquarters and we’ve just stumbled across a frightfully unusual series of watches that will likely appeal to the scavenger in you and they go by the name of REC Watches.
Permit us to explain the nature of REC Watches and why they are such an interesting find for any timepiece aficionado. This superb Danish watchmaker have decided to shake up the notoriously stuff watchmaking industry by crafting their timepieces from salvaged pieces of long forgotten detritus and their mantra of “recover, recycle, reclaim” admirably sums up the objective of this eye-catching watchmaker.
REC Watches are the brainchild of Jonathan Kamstrup and Christian Mygh, a pair of watch enthusiasts heralding from Copenhagen, these exceptional looking series of watches are definitely right up our street here at The Coolector. Their main Mark I collection of watches are made from salvaged pieces from the iconic Mark I series of Mini cars and the design is reflective of the striking elliptical dashboard found in these cars. Check out these mightily spiffing watches below:
If you’re after a timepiece that is a talking point as well as an awesome looking watch then that’s exactly what you’ll be getting with REC Watches. Each of these timepieces has a distinct story to tell and will be entirely unique from other watches in the series because each is made from different salvaged parts.
We’re loving the unique design and restorative ideal behind REC Watches here at The Coolector and we’ll definitely be keeping our eye out for what other canvases they will be using to create their masterpieces in the future. A supremely unique and devilishly dapper watch for any timepiece lover in 2014.
