When it comes to watches, we know what we like here at Coolector HQ and few have hit the nail on the head more from an aesthetic perspective than these Szanto ICON Roland Sands Signature Series Watches developed with Roland Sands Design, an American motorcycle and accessories brand. Szanto brand watches are know for their vintage inspired designs and is one of several brands under the umbrella of Time Concepts, a San Francisco based watch company. Szanto ICONs is the first of the TC brands to be featured by The Coolector. The quality of this new collection is plain to see right from the get-go and if you have a thing for moto-inspired watches, these will be right up your street as well.
The ICON Signature Watches from Roland Sands Design are the result of a desire to simply things in the face of a world filled with tech influenced timepieces. In a time of pocket sized screens and wearable “devices” the traditional timepiece seems to be fading into obscurity, but at Roland Sands Design they have a penchant for the past, for things that last and stand the test of time, making for an ideal pairing with the Szanto brand whose watches have always exhibited a vintage character. The ICON Roland Sands Watch was created to provide your wrist with some old-school, signature style.
Motorcycle Inspired Design
One of the most appealing features of these striking, no-nonsense timepieces from Roland Sands Design, is just how wallet friendly they are with a price tag of just $225. This represents stunning value for money when you consider the quality design and materials used in these super cool timepieces from Roland Sands Design and we’ll certainly look to get our hands on one here at Coolector HQ this summer.
The ICON Signature collection of watches from Roland Sands Design ($225) is chock full of great design features that belie their affordable price. This includes a 43mm 316L stainless steel case and fixed bezel, Japanese Quartz (Miyota 2415) 3 Hand Day/Date Movement, 100m Water Resistant and genuine Horween leather watch strap with easy change spring bar for changing out the straps and changing up the aesthetic.
These majestic looking, moto-inspired watches are designed to stand the test of time and boast a versatile, functional design which makes them great for day to day wearing. Szanto developed the design in collaboration with Roland Sands himself to ensure the finished products compliment Roland Sands’ line of apparel and parts. Each timepiece has a stainless steel case and bezel with a flat hardened mineral crystal that really are built to stand the test of time and any adventure you find yourself on. The steel watch cases are available in different finishes – unplated, PVD plated in black, gun metal, and also in antique bronze or antique silver to evoke a steam-punk flavor for these models. The ribbed stitching in the USA Horween leather strap is a highlight of the design, and captures the essence of Roland Sands motorcycle jackets that are loved the world over. The Horween leather takes on a patina quickly to evoke the feel of a well worn motorcycle jacket or riding boots.
Impressive Movement
Given the affordable price tag of $225, it’s hard to believe the quality of the components of these ICON Signature Collection watches which includes the Japan Quartz (Miyota 2415) 3 Hand Day/Date Movement which keeps perfect time day in, day out and is one of the most reliable on the market for the price bracket.
Available in a number of different colourways to suit your own personal style, there will be an RSD ICON Signature Watch for everyone. We love fairly priced, eye-catching timepieces here at The Coolector and this series from Szanto for Roland Sands Design is one of the best we’ve seen in quite some time in this regard. After an affordable, stylish, automotive or motorcycle inspired accessory for your wrist this summer? Look no further.
