It’s somewhat of a shame that the pocket watch is no longer a legitimate choice of timepiece for most modern men because there is no doubting that they are positively dripping with dapperness. That being said, however, a watchmaker that is certainly no stranger to the pages of The Coolector, Shinola, are doing their part in trying to bring the pocket watch back to the mainstream through the release of their limited edition Shinola Henry Ford Pocket Watch which is limited to just a 1000 being made so, if you want to ramp up your sartorial nature, you know what you need to do.
The Shinola Henry Ford Pocket Watch is the second in the company’s Great Americans Series of timepieces which are crafted to celebrate iconic American innovators, of which Henry Ford is doubtlessly one. This eye-catching piece is engraved with Ford’s signature on the case back, which is crafted from solid stainless steel, and the wonderfully manufactured pocket watch boasts a black dial with cream printing for a highly distinctive finish.
Each one of the Shinola Henry Ford Pocket Watches is individually numbered so you can see your own piece of watchmaking and automotive history and pass it from one generation to the next. Measuring 49mm, it’s a meaty offering and each one of these brilliantly vintage is supplied with a metal chain, leather fob, its own wooden stand and custom gift box. We’ve always been fans of Shinola here at Coolector HQ and their admirable objective of keeping their manufacturing processes within the floundering city of Detroit in order to help make it great again just adds to their appeal still further. It is, of course, the watches that they manufacture that makes them so impressive and this limited edition Shinola Henry Ford Pocket Watch (which is available for pre-order currently) is no exception. For any man who wants to add a touch of Boardwalk Empire-esque style to their accessories, we can think of few better ways of doing it than with one of this breathtaking timepieces.
