It would appear that awesome cycling accessories and gadgets are like buses and they all come along at once as we’ve certainly covered more than our fair share of late here on the pages of The Coolector but there is another that we’ve just encountered that is simply too good to ignore and it goes by the name of Smarthalo.
Cycling is, of course, a simple pleasure in life but that isn’t to say it cannot be improved through the implementation of technology and that’s where gadgets like Smarthalo come into play. Billed as a smart biking system that lets you focus on the most important thing – the road – the Smarthalo has all manner of fantastic features that are sure to appeal to the tech loving cycling fraternity and it is currently undergoing a round of funding over on Kickstarter.
The Smarthalo boasts turn by turn GPS navigation controlled via your smartphone and relayed to the hub on your handlebars, automatic tracking functionality that instantly records all of your cycling metrics such as distances, speeds and heights and collates it into an app on your phone for review and a smart lighting system that has night-time activation and tamper proof screws to prevent theft. With some truly great features such as alerting you to phone calls and messages, the Smarthalo is certainly going to bring cycling into the 21st century and it’s hard not to be impressed with its versatility and functionality. Minimalist in design but positively packed full of features, any cyclist looking to up the tech capabilities of their bicycle won’t go far wrong with Smarthalo and there is still plenty of time to support this project over on Kickstarter.
