Though, truth be told, the Gameboy is a games console that we’ve not picked up in a good decade or so here at Coolector HQ, it is one that we’ve always got a soft spot for and that’s why we were more than a little impressed when we came across this fantastically customised Donkey Kong Gameboy by serial console artist, Vadu Amka.
This Donkey Kong themed version of one of Nintendo’s most iconic and timeless machines definitely gives it a whole new lease of life and if you’re a fan of either this timeless console of Kong himself then chances are you’ll be just as enamoured with its visual awesomeness as we are. With a suitably prehistoric aesthetic of concrete and wood, this great piece of design from Amka is definitely one of his best to date and you can check out a few more shots below:
The Gameboy is rightly considered one of the cornerstones of the videogame industry and it is heartening to see that it is still treated with reverence and given great artistic makeovers like this spiffing Donkey Kong offering from Vadu Amka.
Inventive, incredibly well executed and, quite frankly, just ace, this Donkey Kong Gameboy is definitely the sort of design project we can get on board with here at Coolector HQ and we can’t wait to see which console and game Amka turns his hand to next.
