Needless to say, in a hot country like Brazil, having a swimming pool is something that most homeowners are going to aspire to but, let’s be honest, not many are going to boast anything quite as spectacular as what you’ll discover within the stunning Villa Nova Conceição by Brazilian architects, Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados.

The Villa Nova Conceição is no mean feat from a design point of view and when the client approached Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados with a request that not many would be willing to take on, the architect welcomed the challenge and set about delivering an out of this world interior space to go along with it. What was the client’s request we hear you say? To have a swimming pool in his apartment.

Thinking Outside the Box

Villa Nova Conceição is located in Sao Paulo, one of Brazil’s biggest cities so it goes without saying that a lot of thought had to go into how to incorporate a swimming pool into this duplex apartment. What Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados came up with is nothing short of spellbinding. They designed a breathtaking, glass enclosed outdoor pool that’s become the focal point of the double-height living room through glass windows straight out onto below the surface of the swimming pool – a spectacular sight for any living space.

A truly phenomenal focal point, the swimming pool wall of the Villa Nova Conceição is a true sight to behold and the space has a doubled-sided sofa which is cleverly positioned in the centre of the living room, with half of it facing two glass panels of the pool and the other situated in front of a vast, wall-hanging television, making it the ultimate in entertainment and relaxation spaces in which to enjoy the innovative way in which it has been designed.

With an art collection that wanted to be front and centre of the design, this has clearly been a chief consideration of the architects behind it and his pieces have been thoughtfully placed throughout the property. Fairly minimalist from an interior design point of view, the Villa Nova Conceição has left us thoroughly impressed here at Coolector HQ and not just because it’s got an incredible view out onto the external swimming pool.

Verdant Setting

With a lush greenery really bringing the exterior of the property to life, the Villa Nova Conceição has a small but perfectly formed exterior space, most of which is taken up by the swimming pool which delivers such compelling views throughout the internal living space. With a master bedroom on a mezzanine level overlooking the glorious living space and delivers direct access to the swimming pool, the luxurious look and feel of this property is entirely impossible to ignore.

This breathtaking piece of Brazilian architecture from Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados is a fine of example of the sort of stunning results that can be achieved if you’re prepared to push the design envelope a little. Extraordinary luxury coupled with innovative design practices combine to make this one of our favourite pieces of architecture so far in 2018.
