There are certain watchmakers that we always eagerly anticipate their next release and William Wood is one such example. We’re delighted to report that they’ve not let us down because their latest offering – the brilliant-looking Fire Exit Watch – might just be their most unique and interesting timepiece to date. Available for pre-ordering now for delivery in September, this is one of the most visually impactful watches you’ll see on any wrist in 2024 (and beyond).
The William Wood Fire Exit Watch is available to pre-order now for the price of £1495 and you can pick from a wide array of strap colours to match your own unique sense of style. This stainless steel watch, finished in gunmetal grey and inspired by the fire exit sign, showcases a Swiss-made Sellita SW220 movement. The real stand-out feature is found on the dial which boasts the fire exit sign man depicted in a variety of actions for each day of the week.
This stunning design feature is perfectly complemented by fire exit arrow indices filled with luminous material, a bezel, and a glass dial matched to the distinctive green of a fire exit sign. The caseback features a rotating disc with the running man symbol, while the straps are crafted from repurposed British racing green fire hoses, adding a touch of sustainability and history to the design.
Each watch is beautifully presented in William Wood’s genuine luxury fire exit sign case that can hold up to three watches. William Wood is delighted to have collaborated with the acclaimed Watch Designer Max Resnick in crafting this awesome-looking Fire Exit Watch. A highlight and personal favourite feature of theirs is undoubtedly the day wheel, which creatively showcases the fire exit sign figure performing a unique action for every day of the week. These actions are outlined below:
Monday – Late for work
Tuesday – Hard at work
Wednesday – Commuting
Thursday – Exercising
Friday – Thank god it’s Friday!
Saturday – Partying
Sunday – Sleeping in
The wheel sits below the green glass dial and is finished in C1 grade lume with the fire exit man printed onto the wheel. Each day of the week is represented by the man completing a different action, and William Wood has included the first initial of each day of the week in the bottom left-hand corner of the date wheel window for complete clarity. If you’re after a watch a little out of the ordinary this year, this is definitely the one for you.
