It think that it’s most likely abundantly clear that we’ve got a bit of a thing for watches here at Coolector HQ and we spend countless hours knee-deep in the internet sourcing and looking for new watch brands to enjoy but sometimes during this said drawling, we come across something that makes us appreciate the old ones all the more and that’s what happened when we came across the Wrist Project by a talented fellow by the name of Matt Johnston.
California resident, Johnston, obviously has a watch crush akin to our own but decidedly to be much more creative with his love of timepieces than us by creating an illustrative project called Wrist which showcases his love of some of the world’s most iconic timepieces through a series of animated GIFs. Although the project is in its infancy, Johnston has already captured our imagination here at Coolector HQ with his representations of classics like the digital Casio and the minimalist Braun Watch which look all the more interesting unusually in their GIF state. Check out some of our favourites below:
If, like us, you adore timepieces and illustration, you’ll be a big fan of Johnston’s Wrist Project because it really does showcase all that is excellent about the iconic timepieces of yesteryear and why they shouldn’t be forgotten about in the age of the smartwatch which draws ever nearer. These first rate GIFs have certainly made us nostalgic at Coolector HQ and we can’t wait to see which other eye-catching watches are added to the project in the future.
