There aren’t many that do better limited edition collabs than the guys at Worn & Wound and so it has proven once again with their latest release – this superb looking, visually vibrant Zodiac x Worn & Wound Super Sea Wolf Limited Edition Watch. If you’re an awesome looking timepiece that puts you in exclusive company, this one would definitely be a top pick of ours here at Coolector HQ.
The Zodiac x Worn & Wound Super Sea Wolf Limited Edition Watch is the first collab between the two brands. It is one which celebrates the historic dive aesthetic through a new, contemporary lens. It takes its design inspiration from the visuals and current trends seen in outdoors/hiking sneakers and gear and this striking timepiece brings together bold colours and unexpected textures to deliver an energetic, high contrast package, with a 90s vibe that makes it impossible to ignore.
Vintage Vibes Abound
As its base, the 40mm, 200m, Super Sea Wolf was the ideal format for the inspiration, as it mixed no-nonsense, solid specifications with many components that can be individually coloured. Kicking things off with the dial, the charcoal grey surface boasts a muted grid texture as a nod to tech fabrics. It is adorned with orange-anodized markers for a metallic glint and a bright sunflower yellow chapter ring for a real burst of vibrancy.
The hands of the Zodiac x Worn & Wound Super Sea Wolf Limited Edition Watch are rendered in coral, blue and mustard, and will always stand out against the grey below, while the date wheel is printed in bright teal, which provides another bold focal point. The bezel has a 12-hr index, which is an unusual detail on a Super Sea Wolf but one that tallies with the outdoors concept as it lends itself to travel.
The insert is charcoal grey, but features a flecked pattern which is inspired by sneaker midsoles, and numerals in teal and mustard, tying in with the dial. The beating heart of the Zodiac x Worn & Wound Super Sea Wolf Limited Edition is the STP 3-13, Swiss-made automatic movement. This features 26-jewels, a customized date, swan-neck regulator, hand-winding, hacking seconds, a power reserve of 44hr and a frequency of 28,800 bph. Another first-class collab project from the guys at Worn & Wound.
